VERY REV. PROF. KWESI NKUM WILSON HONOURED WITH GHANA EXECUTIVE AWARD FOR INNOVATIVE LEADERSHIP

Very Rev. Prof. Kwesi Nkum Wilson, the esteemed Principal of Komenda College of Education and Associate Professor in Counselling Psychology(UEW) has been awarded the Innovative Leadership Award at the prestigious Ghana Executive Awards 2025. The event, held at the Labadi Beach Hotel, celebrated individuals and teams whose visionary leadership continue to shape a stronger Ghana under the theme: “Celebrating Leadership, Individual and Team Excellence: Building a Stronger Ghana.”
This national recognition comes as no surprise to those familiar with Prof. Wilson’s remarkable contributions to education and community transformation. Since assuming office in 2019, his visionary leadership has propelled Komenda College of Education into a model institution through innovative reforms in academic programs, infrastructure, staff development, financial management, agriculture, and community engagement.
Under his leadership:
•    The Komenda College has seen a dramatic rise in faculty qualification, with over 20 staff pursuing doctoral degrees.
•    Gender parity among students has nearly been achieved.
•    Strategic projects such as the Early Childhood Centre, research farms, and the Brew Sam: Creedy: Komeh-Ababio Memorial Lectures have strengthened the College’s community ties.
•    Agricultural innovation, including coconut and palm plantations, piggery, fish farming, and apiculture, have secured the College’s land and enriched its curriculum.
Prof. Wilson’s unique approach blending humility, innovation, and collaborative leadership continue to inspire both students and professionals across the country. His dedication to excellence, sustainability, and inclusive development has set a benchmark for educational leadership in Ghana.
