the first and the only Missionary Principal of the Komenda College (1948-1962)
Lawrence Alfred Creedy was the first and the only Missionary Principal of the Komenda College (1948-1962) and a public signatory to the church’s deed of Foundation.
His arrival in the Gold Coast was a great Blessing to the church especially in the Church education and Administration. Some of his services and contribution were:
A pioneer tutor at the Wesley College in Kumasi and a Supervisor of Methodist schools. A member of the Church’s Finance and Education Committees. Member of the Church Constitution Drafting Committee and the representative of the Ghana District at only one Session of the West African Conference Committee in 1957.
The most crowning moment in his life and service was in 1947 when he was appointed the first Principal of Komenda Teacher College. He later become a Public Signatory to the Church’s Deed of Foundation at the Wesley Methodist Church at Cape Coast on Friday 28th July 1961.
The legend L. A. Creedy will forever remain in the history of Komenda College.
