The Komenda College of Education Old Students’ Association (KOSA) year 2000 (Y2K) has concerted efforts to build an ultra-modern 8-Seater Toilet Facility for Students of the College. This was to augment the College’s toilet facilities and to provide a more congenial, conducive and befitting toilet block that will improve the physical and personal convenience(s) of Students and ultimately enhance learning.
To this end, a brief sod-cutting ceremony was held on Thursday, November 17, 2022 led by the Very Rev. Dr. Christina Dzakpasu in the company of some KOSA Y2K representatives: Mr. Nicholas Taylor, the Project Committee Chairman, Ms. Chritabel Eshun, Mr. Richard Binney, Mr. Francis Ebu, Mr. Eric Oppong, Mr. Joe Swenzy Dadzie and Mr. Jacob Andzie Quinoo (KOSA Central), some Management members, Staff and Students of Komenda College of Education, Komenda; to mark and concretize the commencement of the project.
The 8-Seater Toilet Facility was projected to kick start by the end of November, 2022 and completed within 3 months – February, 2022. The project was also estimated to be commissioned as part of the 75th Anniversary projects on March 11, 2023.
Mr. Nicholas Taylor, the project Committee Chairman, stated that KOSA Y2K was poised to provide the needed financial, material and human resources to get the project ready for commissioning and use on the 75th Anniversary Day. The Y2Ks were pleased with the prompt response from Management in supporting them with the other resources in making the project materialize. eMr. Prince Annan, an Assistant Estate Officer of the College who developed the plan for the project was equally acknowledged.
Ahead of the completion of the project, the Ag. College Secretary, Ms. Constance Afriyie on behalf of Management thanked the KOSA Y2K and the entire KOSA fraternity for their continuous support in partnering Management to better develop the College.
Adding his voice to what has been said earlier, the Principal, Very Rev. Kwesi Nkum Wilson (PhD) expressed gratitude to the KOSA Y2K and assured to provide the needed support for the successful completion of the project.
In other related developments, Mr. Jacob Andzie Quinoo (KOSA Central) commended the Principal, for being a pioneer of great initiatives in advancing the Mission and Vision of the College. In addition, he on behalf of the KOSA Representatives congratulated our students for competing and eventually winning the Maiden Edition of the National Insurance Debate Competition held in Accra on Wednesday, November 16, 2022. By way of motivation, Mr. Jacob Andzie Quinoo donated an undisclosed cash to the students.
