A.   The Position

Per the Harmonized Scheme of Service for Colleges of Education, the duties of a Tutor shall include;

• teaching,

• setting and marking of assignments and examination questions,

• invigilation of examinations,

• supervision of students’ projects,

• research and publication,

• assisting in the administration of the departments,

• supervision of students’ internships,

• extension work/service to the College and the nation,

• any other related duties assigned by the Principal or his/her representative.

B. The Person

The applicant must:

  1. hold a good first degree and a Masters’ degree by Research in a relevant subject area.
  2. Both degrees must be aligned.

2. SUPERVISOR OF WORKS

  1. The Position:    

            Per the Harmonized Scheme of Service for Colleges of Education, the Supervisor of Works shall assist the Chief Supervisor of Works in the discharge of his/her duties including:

  1. supervision of all building contracts and works in the College;
  2. ensuring compliance with drawings and specifications;
  3. ensuring the use of approved building materials;
  4. ensuring that directions by engineers and architects are carried out by contractors;
  5. ensuring regular maintenance of college buildings and property including infrastructure.

         B.   The Person

              The applicant must:

  1. hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering

        OR

  1. hold minimum HND in Civil Engineering with four (4) years relevant experience.
  2. be computer literate.

3.  ICT ASSISTANT

  1. The Position:

            Per the Harmonized Scheme of Service for Colleges of Education, the ICT Assistant will assist the Chief ICT Assistant in the performance of his/her duties which includes:

  1. supervising the construction and maintenance of the Colleges ICT operational model and overseeing ICT network and internet operations;
  2. making detailed plans to accomplish ICT management and technical goals;
  3. organizing and supervising subordinate ICT-related staff;
  4. Supervising the installation and upgrading of hardware and software, programming and systems design, development of computer networks, implementation of internet and intranet sites; and
  5. Training of ICT-related staff. Qualifications
  • The Person

The applicant must:

  1. hold Bachelor of Science in ICT

OR

  1. possess minimum HND or University Diploma or its equivalent in the relevant subject area with four (4) years relevant experience

4. PORTERS

     A.   The Position:    

      Per the Harmonized Scheme of Service for Colleges of Education, the duties of the Assistant Porter Grade II shall include:

  1. maintenance of records
  2. ensuring and overseeing the cleaning of halls
  3. maintenance of hall property and furniture
  4. ensuring the security of halls of residence and students’ property
  5. maintenance of records of residence
  6. training and supervision of the staff of halls
  7. receiving and monitoring the movement of hall visitors

B.   The Person

               The applicant must:

  1. hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognised tertiary institution.

Or

  1. possess minimum HND or University Diploma or its equivalent from a recognised tertiary institution.
  2. be computer literate.

5. SECURITY OFFICER

     A.   The Position:    

Per the Harmonized Scheme of Service for Colleges of Education, a Security Officer shall assist the Chief Security Officer in the administration of the Security Services which include:

  1. Exercising control over the Guards and all security personnel;
  2. Ensuring discipline among security staff;
  3. Supervising and training of staff;
  4. Keeping the security situation under constant review for the safety and protection of the entire College community;
  5. Advising Management on the security situation, and logistic needs.

         B.  The Person

              The applicant must:

  1. hold a Bachelor’s degree with at least four (4) years relevant working experience.

              OR

  1. have served in the Armed Forces, Police or any major security service and have held security-related schedule(s).
  2. have impeccable record of service.

6. WORKS ASSISTANT

            A.   The Position:    

      Per the Harmonized Scheme of Service for Colleges of Education, the Works Assistant Grade II shall perform general works and maintenance duties in a specialized trade area including:

  1. repairs and maintenance of equipment/furniture etc

         B.   The Person

               The applicant must:

  1. hold NVTI or its equivalents in any of the trades.

City and Guards should be considered.

7. GUARDS

  A.   The Position:    

      Per the Harmonized Scheme of Service for Colleges of Education, a Guard Grade II will be       responsible for safe-guarding life and property on campus.

  1. The position requires tactfulness, initiative, discipline, boldness and firmness.
  2. He/She shall assist the day-to-day administration of the transport section.

             B.   The Person

              The applicant must:

  1. possess the 5 School Certificate/GCE ‘O’ Level credits or 6 WASSCE/SSSCE passes including English Language.
  2. be physically fit and
  3.  be between the ages of 20 and 25 years for Men and 20- and 28-years Women.

8. LABOURER/CLEANER

A. The Position:    

Per the Harmonized Scheme of Service for Colleges of Education, the duties of the Cleaner shall include:

  1. cleaning of offices and other designated parts of the College
  2. ensuring the safety of College property;
  3. assisting students in emergencies;
  4. Maintain the work area clan and safely
  5. loading and unloading materials and equipment
  6. assist in waste disposal and recycling activities
  7. lift and carry merchandises as needed

B. The Person

               The applicant must:

  1. Possess a minimum BECE
  2. GCE ‘O’ Level/SSSCE Certificate will be an advantage.

9. MATRONS/COOKS

A. The Position:    

The duties of the cook shall include:

  1. Setting up cleaning and organizing work station
  2. Preparing ingredients for shift, washing vegetables, chopping, seasoning meat, etc
  3. Preparing oven, utensils and grill for shift
  4. Cooking order according to food health and safety standards
  5. Assisting other cooks in preparing food or helping other team members when needed
  6. Storing all food properly
  1. The Person

The applicant must:

  1. hold NVTI or its equivalents in any of the trades.
  2. Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  3. Physical endurance to stand for an entire shift
  4. Able to bend, move and lift up to 25 pounds or more
